There are a lot of feet over at I Heart Faces this week.

Here is a photo of my baby girl.

She doesn't have any shoes on. Or anything else on, for that matter! (You might spot her discarded diaper in the photo!)

Here is my boy on the beach today!

Beach Bound

We're campers. I'm not talking about pitch a tent and pee in the woods (even though some of the men-folk in my family might be inclined to do the later...) type of campers. We're "pull our 25 ft. travel trailer to a nice campground, have a bathroom with running water and cable tv" type of campers. Well we don't always have cable tv, but bedtime is so much easier with it. For me. (I have a hard time sleeping without the tv on.... so?!)

What was I talking about?

We've camped at the beach multiple times. It's so easy to go to the beach in a camper. You just hang your clothing in the closets, put your beach stuff (chairs, umbrellas, floaty stuff and toys) in the compartment under the bed, put all of your bathroom necessities in the camper bathroom, stock up your fridge and cabinets and you're good to go. Plus you have a truck bed to put your stroller, fishing rods and coolers in. SO easy to pack a camper!

This year my parents have booked a place at the beach and we are so blessed to be invited along! I can't wait! We have not been on vacation with my parents and my brother like, ever! I'm glad they'll get to see the grand kids at the beach. And glad that someone else can wipe sand off of them. Thanks, Dad! ;-)

One problem. I have NO CLUE how to pack now! All my clothes are gonna be wrinkled in a bag and how are we gonna fit all of our beach "stuff" in the bed of Moose's truck? We bought big bins to but our bags with clothing in in case it rains on the way down. I just know I'm going to forget something important.

We leave on Saturday! I'm so excited!

Please tell me how to pack?!

(Pre)School Is Out For Summer!

My boy's first year of preschool is over, today was the last day. It seems like it went so quickly and I feel like I missed most of it since I was always working and hardly got to drop him off or pick him up. (Another good thing about not having a job anymore has been that I have gotten to take him to school for these last couple of weeks.)

Today they had a day out at a local park. My boy had fun playing with all of his friends!

Kind of annoyed that I made him stop for a picture?

They spent a lot of time on the tire swing!

Their teacher was great! My boy kept telling her to "Watch this!"

To Grandmother's House We Go!

One of the good things about not having a job anymore is getting to spend more time with my children. Recently we were able to take a trip "Over the river and through the woods" to my grandparents house!

Ok, their house isn't really all that far away. It's about a half hour trip. But growing up MAN did I think it was a long drive! Past a church where my brother and I would always try to remember the date on the corner stone. Through a corn field (well, when corn was in season) and finally past a big red barn and we would arrive! I always loved getting there, despite the fact that my brother would fall asleep with his head on my shoulder or, heaven forbid, come over on MY side of the car.

My brother and I would always spend a few days with them before the end of summer. They would take us "Back to School" shopping and always bought sneakers!

As soon as we got there my boy hit up Great Grandpa for some mints. Of course he had some in his pocket!

Grandpas house

My boy made Great Grandma get him "emulade" (lemonade) while my Dad and his Dad talked.

When his thirst was quenched he came back and helped Great Grandpa roll up the hose.

Then my baby and her baby helped to cut the grass, or just sat on the lawn mower...

We went inside and my Dad and his Mom looked at old photographs.

My Grandpa made all of these baskets!

My babies sat on the step in the kitchen where my brother and I would always sit. The door behind them leads to the upstairs.

We went upstairs. This is the room that I would sleep in when we stayed over. It used to be my Dad's room. The wall paper is like 3D and fuzzy.

These are some of the toys that we used to play with. Those Mickey Mouse bouncers were so much fun!

Really great wallpaper in their house, right?!

We had a really nice visit!

It's Over

I've sort of mentioned it over the past couple of posts but now that it's official I can say it (write it?) out loud.

I lost my job. I cleaned out my desk and it's over.

It's really over. 8 years in the same department, 6 years in the same job. So many good people came and went before me, but I didn't think I would ever leave, and now I'm out. The only company I've ever worked for. I started in a summer job at age 15 and I was faithful to that one company for my entire working years.

Now it's over.

It was the best job I ever had, it was the worst job I ever had. I had the best time. I suffered so much heart-ache.

What do I do now? How do I function?

I can't afford to not work. But I also can't afford to take a position that is too far away from my children. Being away from them for 8 hours a day is enough already- I'm not willing to spend more time away from them in transit to and from a new job.

Unemployment only lasts so long.

I miss my job. I love being home with my children. I'm sad, I'm happy. I'm confused.

I have low self esteem. I am broken now. So much of that job was MINE. Me by myself. So much work and time and sacrafice.

Why do I care? It's over.

And here come the tears.

You Don't Treat Me No Good No More

I thought that these song lyrics we perfect for my current situation. No I'm not talking about Moose and I (or any other person for that matter) but rather another long term "relationship" of mine that recently ended.

Well the truth, well it hurts to say
I'm gonna pack up my bags and I'm gonna go away
I'm gonna split, I can't stand it
I'm gonna give it up and quit- ain't never coming back.

But before I get to going, I've got to say,
I know you used to love me but that was yesterday,
And the truth, I won't fight it,
When the love stops burning you got to do what's right.

Oh lover, lover lover, you don't treat me no good no more,
Oh lover, lover lover, you don't treat me no good no more.

Well the truth, yeah it hurts to say,
I'm gonna pack up my bags and I'm gonna go away,
I'm gonna split, I can't stand it,
I'm gonna give it up and quit- ain't never coming back

But before I get to going, I've got to say,
There was a time, oh when you used to shake it for me,
but now, all you do is just treat me cold,
Ain't gonna take it no more, gonna walk out the door,

Lover, lover lover you don't treat me no good no more,
no good no more more more more
Lover, lover lover you don't treat me good no more,
yeah yeah yeah yeah

Well I'd wait up for you almost every night
and I'm hurting so bad cause you don't treat me right
Oh, oh you know I love you so
but you're so mean to me baby, I'm walking out the door,
oh lover, oh lover, yeah-yeah

Oh lover lover lover you don't treat me no good no more

I know you used to love me in every way
but now im giving it up, im tired of crying babe
I can't stand it no longer, it hurts me to say,
but im packing up my bags and going far away,
o lover, yeah-yeah

woh-oh, woh-oh lover lover lover you don't treat me no good no more
woh-oh lover lover lover you don't treat me no good no more.....

You can listen to the song here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wxQVwTCC6Vo&feature=related

I edited the lyrics a bit to suit my needs.

I Heart Faces- Celebrating Mom

At I Heart Faces this week the theme is "Celebrating Mom".

I don't have very many pictures of myself with my children as I am usually the one behind the camera! On Mother's Day I asked Moose to take a picture of the babies and I. It's not the best as there is a glare on my glasses, and my baby looks a little bit annoyed. But my boy was so proud about his fish tank that I still love the picture and it was a wonderful Mother's Day!

Mother's Day Gift From My Boy

My boy made me a few Mother's Day gifts at school and I just had to share one of them here.

His teachers had asked him a few questions about me, and here were his answers:

My Mom...

Is 4 years old.

Her favorite color is black.

Her favorite food is bread.

Her favorite T.V. show is Cars and Nemo.

While I'm at school she plays on her computer.

If she had a million dollars she would buy diapers and medicine.

My favorite thing to do with her is play with her!

I think he got the computer part right...

I also take a lot of photos.
Sometimes I write poetry.
