I felt like the article was picking at women for having a hobby, saying that by having a blog I obviously must be neglecting my children in some way. I went to *shock and horror* a ONE DAY conference and left my children with their father what is wrong with me?! Well what is wrong with me every day when I leave the house to go to work? Because I am not being paid to blog I should fell guilty about taking a little time each day to myself? If I was spending the same time going to the gym or running errands would I be criticized for that?
I just think it is so unfortunate that the writer decided to put a negative spin on what could have been a really great article about an awesome event. I loved my experience so much that I am going back. I have signed up to attend Bloggy Bootcamp in Philly and I hope a lot of you will join me so you can find out what it is all about first hand. You won't be sorry.
SITS is a wonderful community, Tiffany is an awesome woman and Bloggy Bootcamp was the best thing that I could have done for my blog. And for myself - the women that attended this conference were nothing short of amazing.
The one thing that the NYT did get right was putting the article in the Fashion & Style section. After all- being a Mom is in fashion, it's hot, it's what all the women are doing. And it's not going out of style any time soon.

LOVE the last line! And I'm already so excited for Philly Boot Camp - it'll be like a little reunion!
ReplyDeleteVery well said SISTA!!!!
ReplyDeleteWell put and nice to hear from someone who was actually at the conference for the right reasons, not just to put the boot in for NYT.
